Professors receive grant from Alfred P. Sloan Foundation

Professor Kevin Lewis and Professor John Skrentny received a generous grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in January of 2013.  The grant will fund a project entitled, “Falling Behind, Moving Up or Moving Out? Worker Training in Science and Engineering.”  The grant funds  original research as well as a workshop, held on campus on July 12th-13th, that brought together scholars, government officials and business leaders to discuss innovation and the challenge of maintaining worker skills in an environment of constant change.
